Honestly I just don't get the Subaru hype. My girlfriend had a 2016 Crosstrek for years and it was a good car, but nothing about it stood out as being better than anything else out there. Comfort, driving dynamics, reliability, maintenance costs, features, interior quality, fuel economy... all a 7/10 but nothing more really.

We test drove all the subcompact crossovers last summer when shopping for a replacement, and if she had gone that route again, there was maybe a 5% chance she'd have gotten another Crosstrek. The front runners were the CX-30 and very surprisingly, the Kona.

I'm 100% with you, beyond the rally car stuff, WRX and STI, their quirky stuff, Baja and the Outback sedan, I never got the attraction to the company. Especially now that they are all CVTs. To each his own, but in my mind, you can do way better elsewhere.
