Saw a new Hummer EV pickup truck this morning. It's enormous! Not necessarily in terms of dimensions but rather proportions and volume. It's just a huge... blob. It had an "L" plate which in Quebec is reserved for vehicles weighing over 6,000 lbs. I've only ever seen L plates on 3/4 ton pickups before. Was actually a green L plate which is the first time I've ever seen one and maybe the first passenger vehicle to have one.

Last week I was visiting family in Boca Raton, FL, and there's always interesting cars to be found there. Top sightings in the condo garage were: a first-gen BMW X5 with a manual transmission (! - didn't even know these existed but they do and they're quite rare apparently), an early 2000s Mercedes CL600 (the V12 version!), and a Nissan Murano convertible. There's some really clean (and often older) metal in the garage because for the majority of owners it's their second residence, so often people fly back and forth and the cars are only used sporadically and seasonally.

Out on the roads, it's crazy how many high-end cars there are. I almost never see something like a late-model Mercedes E Class in Montreal but in FL, they're everywhere. More popular than a Civic or Corolla here.

Late-model white Bentley Continental GT 'vert with dark blue ragtop, commuting in the January slush in downtown Montreal. Yes, it wore a brownish salt spray.

A 2018-2021 Mercedes C300 Wagon, black with no sport package (so the base 17" rims).

Something about these makes me want one badly enough that I'm browsing Autotrader, LOL. Normally I'm not a fan of the entry-level MBs (drove a GLA250 and hated it) but these wagons are different. So simple, understated, and elegant, and doesn't stand out at all unless you know what it is. Almost timeless and very practical, without any of the flash and gaudiness of the typical GLA/GLB etc.

Around here the C300 wagons are reasonably popular (considering it's a wagon) and are driven mostly by seniors and UMC empty nester suburban moms.

Saw my first Maserati Grecale in the wild last Monday, as well as my first Charger Daytona, in front of a dealership. On the latter, they should scrap their bully-like tv ad and capitalize on the thing being the only Canadian-made EV.

Making the rounds on the local interwebs is a highway billboard where the top stick-on ads gave way to the one waaayyy under, now shown in near pristine condition:
