I guess the plywoods will be going up at the local Stellantis store - only the PHEV's were selling in Quebec.

Oh and the entire Hornet line is cancelled - not just the PHEV.

That thing was a turd from day one.  They don't have a sweet clue what they are doing nowadays.  EV Charger, Hornet, only V6 in the Ram truck.   Nothing appealing from that brand.

Revelations

Seems many CDJR stores in Alberta and BC are proudly "Under New Ownership". Are they a hot potato? I've noticed quite a few have changed hands in the past year.

The Hemi is back in the Ram truck, and the Hurricane isn't a V6, it's a twin-turbo inline six.

The point being, they were clueless on what their customer base wanted, they didn't want the Hemi/V8 to disappear and had to make a quick change in direction.

Following what the PC police and government feel vehicles should be is a recipe for disaster, just give the masses what they want and you will do well.

The inline 6 is a jewel of an engine, had a Ram rental with one and came away impressed. I'm sure its been said 1000 times before, but that 6 is better in every performance metric compared to the Hemi. It should reside under the hood of the Wrangler/Grand Cherokee as well, at least as an option.

I agree the I6 is "better".

But most truck owners still prefer a V8

Bingo, especially when you are talking about the Mopar buyers.

They were supposed to put the I6 in the Grand Cherokee, but they pivoted & are putting an all new turbo 4 that according to Jeep delivers 324 horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque, not sure if they're gonna put that one in the Wrangler eventually.

Yuck. What could go wrong with a Stellantis 4 banger in a heavy Jeep?

Grand Cherokee is already available with the 4XE (?) hybrid 4-cylinder and it's absolutely terrible.  Driven lots of Wagoneers with the I6 Hurricane as work rentals, and can confirm that the engine feels smooth and has really nice torque curve that makes it feel pretty peppy, runs out of steam in the high RPM range, but w/e, it's a truck/suv. Shame the rest of the vehicle is a POS. I miss the old 5.7L Hemi sound though.

The 4xe is dead, but the JGC I drove with this drivetrain was great. The Hurricane is fun to drive, but sucks gas like a 6 litre V8 in real life, so I don't really see the point of it.

On the commute back home yesterday, saw a new RAM, not a base model - so good chance it was a Hurricane - on the side of the highway with the hood up.

I've heard the hurricane engine is reliable thus far, but haven't dove into it much.  When buying my Tundra I didn't drive a RAM, couldn't get past the Stellantis stigma.  Maybe I should have.  Apparently they ride amazing, and interiors are very nice.  I don't know anyone that owns a newer RAM, which is odd, because pretty much every family I know has a pickup in the drive.
