In the past 2-3 years I've only rented a Camry 2.5L and a Malibu (1.5T?). Yeah I was glad that I was able to return that Malibu early, let me tell ya.

The Camry worked out quite well. Nothing special, it wasn't fun to drive but it got us around in comfort with zero fuss. I don't remember the  numbers but I recall it being quite economical though.

We had a V8 Dodge Durango R/T on Vancouver Island last fall. The interior was a solid meh, it looked great on the outside, handled decently, rode well, the infotainment that you had to use for everything was a PITA, but that Hemi made the thing fly. Would I buy one, no, would I like to try an SRT, oh hell yeah.

A V8 Durango would be an awesome rental to have for a week.

Had one for a day...and that was enough.

I had one for 6 days this past February as a rental when we went out west skiing. Picked it up at the Calgary airport & drove out to Panorama in BC with it. Had enough space for 4 guys & all of our gear. The V8 definitely helped haul all of us all around. Had some sketchy Chinese all seasons on it that weren't much fun on our drive back in the snow, wasn't too confident in the traction that they provided. Interior was still reminiscent of my 2015 Jeep Gran Cherokee, even though this was a 10yr newer car, you could see where they just added stuff without re-doing any of it. The USB-C charging ports looked like they were just tacked on as an afterthought. Good part of the interior was the actual physical buttons for the climate control, none of this touchscreen BS!!

The crazy part is they're still making the damn thing!!

In a sea of bland, sad sack, turbo 3 and 4 banger, rental spec CUV things, the V8 Durango was a definite surprise.  Its way better than the absolutely horrible GMC terrains we got in Vegas and in Palm Springs.
