Quote from: Seafoam on Feb 16, 2026, 12:02 PMI am ready for spring. The last 2 months in Nova Scotia have been unseasonably colder than normal with a shitpile of snow. Today it is a  more normal temperature around the freezing mark. I think the colder weather has migrated to the west more as of late.

I think most places are feeling like this year was a "real" winter.

Yup, old-school winter here with a lot of snow on the ground. Skiing has been good at least  ;D

So obviously you are not tired of it yet ? ;)

I am.

Just changed the auger belt on my snowblower. She has been taking  a beating. Last couple of years I might have used it twice in the season.

I'm a weirdo.

I don't mind this shit.

I don't mind it either, but obviously being a skier helps. For a week I swear I was shoveling every day, we'd get enough that it had to be cleaned, but not enough for the snowblower... last few I've used the snowblower though as there was enough. I'd shovel around the cars & push it down past them & then use the snowblower to clear that, plus my  walkway beside the house to the backyard & then all of my back patio as well & a path to the shed.

Been a fantastic season for the Rideau Canal Skateway this year, it's been open since Dec 31st!! They closed it last night at 10pm & will remain closed today due to warmer temps, but I imagine they'll be able to give it a good flood in the next couple of nights & reopen it later this week.

I will take this cold over rain and slush 10 times out of 10.

Though, I'll admin to breaking down two weeks ago and dreaming of a few beach days in the sun.  But now that it's warmed up a little, we're good.

We were supposed to be getting a massive snowstorm starting last night, and continuing into tomorrow.  25+ cm.

I was fully prepared to leave the Prius parked this morning and take the CX-5 into work.  I woke up to zero snow, so I took the Prius.

As of 2PM, this is the current situation during our 'massive snowstorm'You cannot view this attachment.

A light dusting.

On the bright side, I have an appointment with my mechanic tomorrow morning to get the Prius safetied, so at least I won't have any problems getting there.
