I feel like even with dents, a Prius Prime that runs will ALWAYS be worth more than $3k.

With the way this turned out, you're playing with house money now!

A great example of the capabilities of this car in pure hybrid mode.  I did a bunch of running around this evening after work and expended all the EV range, so when I picked up my daughter from volleyball, I was on pure HV mode.  This is the result from the 6km trip home:

I wasn't making any special effort to hypermile... Just keeping up with traffic on 50-60km/h surface streets with plenty of stoplights and stop signs.

The engineering that went into this car truly is a marvel.

That's great!

I have less city driving than you typically and was 3.2L/100km on hybrid mode.

Yes, if you sit down and read some of the technical specs, you'd think it was some exotic car.

In 2017, it's engine's thermal efficiency of over 40 percent was only exceeded by Formula 1 engines which is extraordinary IMO...

I feel like these types of vehicles don't get the same level of respect in engineering that pure EV's do.  I'd think in a lot of ways these are a more complex system to get right and have everything function seamlessly.

Recently visited an aunt and uncle who have been Prius buyers since mid 00's and in the last year upgraded to the current generation Prius Prime (their first PHEV and 3rd/4th Prius).  Prior to this they had multiple 4Runners that I always thought were the bees knees.
Past vehicles, 2016 VW Golf R, 2020 VW GLI, 2022 Honda Civic Si

Current vehicle, 2024 Acura Integra Type S, 2022 Mazda MX-5 RF GT (manual)
