These are Crown land sites! They are just managed by the township.

Within a few hours there's some Crown land camping, but not a ton. I'm looking for boat access sites, so it narrows things down a little.

The lakes I was looking at are about an hour and a half from the city, beautiful shield lakes. All boat access.

There are two lakes north of the city that have managed sites that start booking in February. They go fast. They are also $90+ per night and $25/day for parking, so pretty expensive for a picnic table and outhouse.

During Covid camping exploded and from what I understand booking a site in SK was very difficult. I think it's improved since but not as easy to get the spot you want as it once was.

Geez, we'd probably rent out our cottage for that rate...

This is why I prefer wilderness camping. No crowds, no lines, no booking a full calendar year ahead. I've found a luggable loo, a privacy shelter works well enough to avoid all that. Also, holy crap, $115/day, for a non serviced camping spot, crikey thats a lot. Hell, there is a hotel in Red Deer that advertises $59.95/night with a pool, and thats a motel in the Milan of the prairies!!  ;D

I didn't fully explain. These sites are on crown land (near as I can tell) and are dispersed along a lake that is 22 miles long. So, they're super private, often your own island, on a gorgeous lake with super clear water. They give you a bag of firewood for each day (you can buy more), and you can buy ice from them when they come by. It's pretty sweet. It's also ridiculously priced. The other lakes in Ontario are $25/night with parking.
