Didn't really need Level 2 for the Prius. Knew I'd need one with the BZ4X. So I finally had one installed.

Was a bit of a job because basement was completely finished. So it had to be run outside. About 70 feet to near the porch. I insisted on every component being commercial/industrial. Teck 90 wire and fittings were used.

I think it turned out well.

Nice!! Ground wasn't too frozen for them to dig & burry the cable?

Frozen. Used a pickaxe.

Looks like a portable, plug-in EVSE? I thought you were going for the Grizzl-E.

Also - you should have that basement crack looked at.

Ugh, I've gotta run electrical like this out to the Pool this spring.....absolutely dreading it. Got like 250ft to cover.

And what basement crack? That tiny little foundation crack within the loop of the charging cord? That's 100% normal in Southern Ontario builds from that era (any probably other eras too). Had quite a few of those on my old house, as do my parents on theirs, never any issues.

How much did that set you back? Do you have load splitting?

He ended up getting Pion.

I was going to get the Grizzl-E, but preferred the rebate of 10 cents per Kwh I get with Pion. My nightly charge rate is 4 cents. So I'm netting 6 cents per hour! I've "made" $63 so far.

I also like that it's portable should I need to bring it along.

And yes, as Firm pointed out that small crack is a nothing burger. But thanks for looking out for me, I appreciate it.

No load splitting. Apparently it wasn't necessary. We aren't exactly "power users" either. Our total bill monthly is only 500-600 kWh. I'm interested to see how much the BZ4X adds to that.

I also used the EV plug on the unused stove circuit. Our dryer circuit is also unused since both stove and dryer are gas. So we weren't adding any new circuits/load to the house. Just using one that was already there and open.

Total cost was $2k and the guy did great work. Good eye for detail.

Some outfits tried to rob/cheat us with their quotes saying we needed a 200amp service first...at the cool cost of $6,500+
