Halle-Freaking-lujah!! The stove had display problems plus one of the elements went out on it. The fridge is not cooling properly and our garage door closes on the first try and if the buttons isn't held down only if the planets are properly aligned. Told the wife we should replace all the appliances once with something better quality than the box store junk so they might make 5 years without a major failure. As for the garage door, I looked, watched youtube videos, lubed everything, so its time to call in a pro, I'm sick of screwing with it. I just have to keep repeating home ownership is great to myself again, and again, and again, ad nauseum.......

Last post by GreatBigAbyss - Aug 20, 2026, 10:45 AMOur 4.5 year old dishwasher shat the bed two nights ago. It's been having circuit board problems for the past year, and finally gave up. A dishwasher is one daily appliance I can't do without, so I bought whatever was in stock at my local big box store. We ended up with a cheapo LG. It doesn't feel nearly as quality as the Maytag/Whirlpool that it replaced, despite being as much as we paid for the last one 4.5 years ago.
Hopefully it lasts. I would have spent more money on a Bosch, but there weren't any in stock anywhere.

Last post by GreatBigAbyss - Aug 20, 2026, 10:42 AMI got permission to charge the Prius at work. This is significant, not because I care about saving the $17/month, but because the outdoor plugs at my house don't currently have capacity to charge two PHEV's at 12amps each simultaneously.
I'll just use the Prius as a Daily, and charge its smaller battery while I'm at work, which will cover me for my daily commute, and any small errands during the work day.
The incoming Rav4 can charge its 3x larger battery at home, and remain topped off for any duties that it will see (it will be the primary vehicle for going anywhere once we get it, aside from my daily commute).
I'll just use the Prius as a Daily, and charge its smaller battery while I'm at work, which will cover me for my daily commute, and any small errands during the work day.
