Our focus has shifted east and we're just not using it. I've considered taking it to the island but I think if we park it there it'll be a rusty hulk in no time, don't want to see that.
I had moved it a few days ago and someone passing by noticed and stopped by and asked if it was for sale. I thought a moment and said maybe...
I'm clearing out a bunch of stuff we had stored in it and going to show it to him. Not sure what I should ask for it.
Hmmm. Makes sense.
What's the ballpark value you'd accept for it?
I'd check what similar ones are actually selling for in your area and start a little high since people are going to negotiate anyway. If it's in good shape and runs well, don't undersell it.
That's gonna be tough since these things a super rare these days.
I'm sure you're sad to see it go since it wasn't given the chance to live up to its potential. But it makes sense to get rid of if you'll just be parking it somewhere.
It sucks to get rid of such a cool and interesting piece of history but I get it. GLWS, I think it will be hard to find the right person to buy it, but you should have a lot less, "if I give you cash right now, would you take 10% of asking price??" types.

Prices are all over the place...from free basket cases to $50k+. Similar condition rigs have sold for about $15k USD lately. I'm seeing low end of $10k and high of $25k in Canada, so it's a pretty big range. I figure I have close to $20k into her, not counting labour of course, it would be nice to get that much out, but I dunno about the market...

I would like to keep it and someday travel with it...but that might be just fantasy. Things have changed since we started that dream, boondocking is apparently not how it used to be pre-covid...
We also want to downsize and sell off stuff here in Ontario and eventually move to NB, it's just part of the list.
Sounds like you're on the fence. List it at the high end, so $25k. If it sells, it sells. If it doesn't, it doesn't. no sweat.
^^ What he said, shoot for the moon, that way if someone takes it off your hands you will not regret it after all. If you are not in a hurry, you can wait for the right sucke...errr...buyer to find it.
The guy just looked at her. I said I was going to list her at $22k and he didn't protest, wants to make an appointment for me to take her to a garage for his mechanic to look at.
