Ok, so I tried to chase the threads, there was not much left to chase, didn't work.

Bought a cheap insert kit and threading kit at PrincessAuto, the tap needed a 19mm socket...which wouldn't fit down the hole. Returned it.

Was looking in the hole with my endoscope, pulled it out, the aluminum sleeve that's supposed to be on the end is now fallen off and is laying on the piston.

Bought the Lisle deep hole repair kit, it's pretty nice, cut some threads today.

I'm still trying to clean out the cylinder of a few pieces of aluminum.  Gotta also get a better look at the injector head to see if it's damaged, looks like the negative electrode might have bounced around in there for a while...
Also, might be some scratches in the cylinder wall, hard to tell, but it doesn't look great.  Not much I can do about them though.

After some more cleaning/vacuuming I think I might start it with the spark plug out to blow out anything still in there...hopefully.  Then, install the insert, stake it, let Loctite cure, install plug and give it a try.

Got the insert in.  Red Loctite and swedged to keep it there.

I think my work is for nothing though, this is the cylinder wall...

Hmmm, I can only find that stuff on Amazon.  Can't hurt.
Any Canadian distributors?
