Permanent tire shine?

Does anyone have any experience with various "permanent" tire shines on the market?

I always apply tire shine when I wash my cars, but despite the various claims, they rarely last for more than a week, and if it rains it's generally gone right away. I'd love something that I don't have to reapply every time I wash my car.

It seems like for these products to really work, the tires have to be cleaned and prepped properly. I have no problem investing an hour or two doing the prep work, but I don't want to do it (and spend this amount of money) and have to redo it in a month or two.

Any experiences? Or would I be wasting my time?
