Congrats.  Looks awesome.  It's amazing how small it looks next to the Integra.  It's not like the Integra/Civic is a big car.

Yes it definitely looks small next to any "normal" size vehicle.  I actually find it looks smaller off on it's own for some reason.  The Integra/Civic like most cars have grown a lot and would easily have been a midsize/full size car 25+ years ago, meanwhile the Miata has stayed about the same size as the first generation.

It is a rather thin feeling steering wheel but does feel very good in the hands.  I love the simplicity of the interior but also still looks and feels good to touch.

Steering wheel looks identical to that in the CX-5.  Save for the white stitching.

Quote from: Fobroader on May 11, 2026, 01:58 PMI never thought about the value proposition...that is true. Also, its not like I would be a on waiting list for a new 911 GT3 or anything, we are talking about a really nice 996 or a not so nice 997.
Exactly, getting something like Gurgie has would be great.  Not a crazy investment, any issues that are associated with that generation are all well known with fixes, and they feel more analog than any of the new ones anyway.

I keep an eye out to see what's out there in the 997.1 generation here in Canada, and the prices are climbing. There are some out-to-lunch asking prices out there too that will never sell, but it seems like I could sell mine for what I paid after taxes, inspection, etc... so break even. Convertible's trade for less as they're less desirable in the Porsche community and don't adhere to the good old "when the top goes down, the price goes up"  ;D

It very well could be the exact same one.

Yeah I'm sure you won't be losing your butt on your 911 when it comes time for something new.  It's true that the convertible version of the 911 are less desirable, but I think that might be the case for a few sports cars, like the Viper and even the Corvette I find the vert's seem less $$'s, but it could be that most are autos.

I keep an eye out as well, and I would not want a convertible, even though I know they are the value proposition.

I parked next to a Miata, your generation but a regular convertible, and it seemed that I could stuff it in the backseat of the Tundra.

You aren't wrong, they are kind of comically small next to any modern pickup.

Well, in the world of Chargers and BMWs that weigh 5-6000lbs, yours is an actual sports car!!

Congrats!

The orange/brown seats caught me off guard, but after looking at it, I really like the contrast with the red. And it sets it apart from every other Miata.

That's a score that you can fit and don't need to mess with with seat brackets.

Well if your thing is 0-60 times, too speed, or acceleration beyond 120km/hr those are definitely a better fit for those needs.  For an experience to bring a smile on your face without breaking the bank at the gas station or in consumables, pretty hard to beat a Miata of any sort.
