Get a Fister Sport.

Had them on my 996.

Yeah, I've been looking at those. I'm just having a hard time spending my money in the US right now 😁

After a year with it, has anything surprised you?  Is there anything that you wished was maybe better (outside of the exhaust note)?  Favourite aspect of the car?

How great the sport seats are has surprised me. A little more power would make it a bit better, but at the same time being able to wring it out in the 1st couple of gears without getting into serious double digits is safer. My favourite aspect is how great it is as a daily driver, run errands, go to golf, hockey, Sunday cruise, long trip to Toronto, etc... I ran out about an hour and a half ago to go pick up a pizza & took the 997 because it's so easy to drive, comfortable & fun.

Sounds pretty much perfect.

Same.

I think there's a place in TO that can do the mod.

I know my buddy was doing them as a side hustle when he was working at Pfaff, not sure if he's still doing any now that he's got his own shop. Most of the Instagram stuff he posts is high end GT-3 or Turbo stuff where he's pinning the coolant elbows with the Sharkwerks coolant pipes, a lot of Sharkwerks exhaust stuff too. Cool to see his time-lapsed posts though where its complete engine out, seems like he can drop an engine in an hour  ;D

Ordered the PCCM+ head unit yesterday, arrived already today. Saturday's project will be to install this in the car & get rid of the Pioneer head unit that came with the car. Should be a good upgrade as the Pioneer deck is really underwhelming, while the PPCM unit will bring back some features that the factory head unit had, plus Android Auto functionality. Will post installation pics at some point  ;D

I assume it is likely a pricy unit but no idea how much more, double, triple, more, than a normal unit.

But man it is a nice upgrade

About triple the price of a decent normal head unit these days is my guess. I just wanted the factory look and then some of the lost functionality of the original unit like fuel range, consumption, etc. If I wasn't able to install it myself & had to pay at the stealership, then I probably would've passed, but I figure it'll take me an hour or so for the install on Saturday morning... fingers crossed  ;)

It's pretty cool that Porsche supports the older models with upgrades like this. Good luck with the install!

Completely understand and I would pay that amount in a heartbeat for the reasons you noted.  Eager to see dash after the install.  I bet it'll look like it was always there, perfect addition.

Got it done, took maybe an hour & a half in total. Was taking my time to ensure I didn't fuck anything up. Was plug & play once I got the birds nest of aftermarket wiring outta the way. Only thing I had to chase down was a power wire they ran into the fuse box, at first I thought they spliced into something, but was able to trace it back & remove it.

It's awesome - I have the Porsche Classic PCCM+ with CarPlay in my old 964. It looks great and works seamlessly. I actually don't even use the CarPlay, just Bluetooth audio. I haven't bothered with the nav either because it's a small screen and if I'm going out in that car I generally know where I'm going
