Two Kia Stingers, one in front and one behind me. Probably the only two in Saskatoon, haha. Been a while since I've seen one.

Quote from: GreatBigAbyss on Dec 02, 2025, 09:22 PM^^^ That looks like a rebadged Corolla.

It was a lot weirder than that, with its tall cabin. Basically a fancier Prius with a closed trunk. Not bad cars in their days, but expensive for the class, hence low sales. The dash shows how vertical these JDM-intended cars were.

Current rides: 2024 Mazda CX-90 PHEV GS-L, 2022 Subaru Crosstrek Limited, 1975 Triumph TR6 Teabagger Express

It's totally a rebadged Corolla. But, it was the only way to get a Corolla hybrid at the time.

It was actually based on the 3rd gen Toyota Avensis (MC platform), a model Europe got but that never made it here. Engine was the 2.4 litre from the Camry hybrid.

I had one for a day as a loaner once.

Revelations

Quote from: Blueprint on Dec 02, 2025, 09:02 AMA wild-duck Monday for sure: not one, but two Lexus HS250h's, a Crown sedan, a Genesis G90 (they sold 2 in Canada in 2024, but to be honest - I think it was a colleague in the press vehicle) and ... a salted-up Huracan that, legally, should have been on snow tires.

Only 2 G90's sold here in 24?! That's too bad, I see one quite often in our area and its a fantastic looking car. Has huge presence going down the road. I'd be guessing depreciation on those is huge.

Tortoise

I saw a BMW 328d wagon today. If I knew nothing about the upkeep they would be a dream car.

Tortoise

I saw my first 2026 Outback yesterday. Just when you thought Subaru couldn't make an uglier vehicle, they go ahead and TOTALLY pull it off. Wow.

It's also jumped the shark and has lost all of its wagon roots.

GreatBigAbyss

I couldn't agree with you more.  It's pretty bad.

Although I think the Subaru faithful will disagree with you.  I think this is a form of confirmation bias.  My anecdotal evidence is my buddy who's a big Subaru fan, LOVES the look of the new Outback and really wants one.

Bridgecity

Although this is not attractive at all, I think I like it more than the previous.  I found the styling of that one awful, especially the wilderness edition.

Tortoise

I dunno, at least the previous one still had some of its wagon roots... Though, I agree the Wilderness editions were ugly.

Blueprint

Parked in front of a indie garage : a minty, late-model Merkur XR4Ti. Can't recall when I've seen one prior to that !!

I say "late model" because it had these wheels instead of the earlier "phone dials":

You're right about that aspect.  Now its just a Forester.

The wagon bod lives with the Trailseeker - it's a Toyota EV rebadge, but it would have made a perfect Outback as far as the styling goes!
