What Did You Do To Your Car Today?

Took the window tint off the 997 & gave it a quick wash. Car came with tint on all the windows & I was never a fan, but was hesitant to try & remove it. Was scared of glue being left behind. With the heat wave we're in, put the car out in the sun & did the passenger side window first as it was peeling in one corner a bit. Came off no issues or glue residue. Next up I did the driver's side. Was surprised the rear glass went quite easy. Hardest one was the driver's side rear quarter window because I couldn't get a corner started, took a small screwdriver to get it started & then it came off as easy as the rest. Car feels much more airy now & not as closed in. I imagine at night will be the biggest difference.

The car spends most of it's time in the garage, so not too worried about the fading. If I was parked outside, all day, every day, then maybe I'd consider it.

Do you have any fun short drives that you could work into your routine on maybe a weekly basis to at least get some extra enjoyment?

I feel like Hannibal lives in the Mississauga area, which is pretty devoid of fun 20 minute drives.

What do you mean, sitting on the 401 for 3 hours to go 4 feet isn't considered a fun Ontarian drive??

Lol, yes Mississauga so it's pretty congested, especially after noon. But I am in the north part so pretty close to all the roads you see on Throttle House.

I promise to make more of an effort boys. In fact this morning I was out running all my errands with it, including groceries. Nicked my wheel at the No Frills parking lot for my efforts

Yes, the BMW is a RWD manual, and I still love it!

Gave the Escalade a fresh detailing inside and out, including a fresh coat of wax, so it'll be nice and clean for our trip south to the beach tomorrow. Course it poured immediately upon finishing...

It's the 4th too, so the family was dressed up for the festivities here in town and figured I'd take the opportunity for a very 'Merican photo.

Took the Cayman on a day trip to Niagara on the Lake today...odometer turned over 4,000 km...

Yeah that's definitely indication that the owner isn't prioritizing driving the car they love.

I don't think you have much on your Acura, do you?

I think I just ticked over 14,000kms and it'll be 2 years old in October.  Mind you over the past two months I've driven the Miata more, which could continue until the cold weather hits. 

Wasn't Hannibels Cayman a new GTS that he bought well before my Acura, or am I mistaken?

Yes, embarrassingly Cayman will be nearly 3 years old this September.

Do you mind if we ask why you don't drive it more, like used as a daily driver?  I would assume the GTS would be a nice place to be in all settings so I would be surprised you are uncomfortable in it.  Is it just because you are somewhat afraid to park it in most places or something?

5 km from my train station (I take the train into downtown). We have 3 of every store within 2 km of our house. We have 4 cars in the house. I actually drive it as much as possible.

To give you an idea, my other car and one I use in the winter, the 2015 BMW335i I bought new is coming on 12 years and it has 64,000 km.

I have been intentionally driving it more this year, including to the train station.

This is my curse: a car enthusiast without much opportunity to drive.

Man I completely forgot about your BMW, that too is a manual right?  No wonder you aren't getting as many kms, you have two very good fun cars to drive.  I can relate with my ITS and Miata, you can only drive one at a time.

Do you have any fun short drives that you could work into your routine on maybe a weekly basis to at least get some extra enjoyment?  I have a "long way home" from work that I'll take, it's only about 15-20 minutes longer, but it's a back road with a lot of turns, elevation changes, blind hills and turns, and it's generally a deserted route.  I stick my car into 4th gear and drive the route in the 80-110kph with the music blasting and just enjoying life.  White it is only a short drive, the level of enjoyment I get from my performance cars has grown greatly.

You guys both have to get out and try autocrossing...
