The biggest issue is that it's no more powerful than a 2001 Prelude. If it made at least GTI levels of power it would be a much better proposition.

Yup, my cousin had an 01??-ish Prelude SH and that thing was an excellent car, one of the only FWD cars I actually enjoyed driving.

That doesn't tell the whole story.  Electrified drivetrain.  It's got torque!!  When I test drove that Civic last year, it feels a LOT faster than the numbers suggest.

Fair enough, electrons are good like that.  But the GTI is still a full second faster to 60.  And HP is more important than torque in a sporty car.

...and the steering. The Type R / Type S bits with less torque equals bliss in your hands  :P

Quote from: Johnnymac on May 07, 2026, 05:00 PMI have seen old Doug Demuro ranting about how bad this car is for the price and I have to agree.

The car itself is pretty good, but while the price *could* be a bit lower, adjusted for inflation it's pretty much positioned as past Preludes were.

In 1986 I purchased a brand new Prelude SE [fuel injected] 5 speed  in midnite blue  for $16,800. Did I get  a good deal? From memory it felt like a lot of money. At the time I still lived at home. ;D
Still wish I had that car back.

Nice, nothing like having a visual to go with a harrowing story.
