I don't understand people who are willing to roll the dice on sketchy, no name ev's. I won't buy powertools from the dollar store, why would you risk your family on a highway in the car equivalent??!!

What? You mean you've never been PowerFisted??

2025, so not the new one.

I dropped the car off yesterday (Tuesday) at 9am and was shocked when they called today a 10:30am saying it was done.

This is their first motor replacement, so it must not be terribly difficult.

Will pick up on Thursday and see!

Got car back and that same day it went into "limp mode". Pulled the code. Cooling for EV system. I pop the hood and the EV cooling system is bone dry!

So one of two things happened:

1) they totally forgot to put coolant in (because EV?).

2) they put coolant in and didn't tighten a fitting properly and it all leaked out.

As always, confidence in any stealership's abilities remains zero. Another good example of why people hate stealerships so much.

Coolant is called "Genuine Toyota Traction Battery Coolant". It's $25 per 500ml.

Car left on flatbed. We'll see what comes of this.

Well that's more than a little bit annoying.  I had a somewhat similar thing happen when I got the turbo replaced on my Golf R.  On the way home from having it replaced, the low coolant light comes on just before getting home (thankfully it's not a long distance from our home to the dealership).  Called the dealership, the manager apologized instantly and drove right over to fill it up.  Turns out it just wasn't fully topped up as I guess they forgot to top it up after the test drive.

Let's hope it was just a minor inconvenience and not something you'll be worried about going forward.

Not terribly worried about the reliability of the car itself.

Very worried about dealing with incompetent stealerships who create problems rather than solve them.
