Deals and good buys

I'm looking to change my phone, I currently have an 3 year old iPhone 13. So far the best deal I've found is keeping my current plan with Fizz Mobile (20 Gb of data, Canada & US) combined with financing an iPhone 17 for $79/m + tax. My work reimburses $65 + tax so the goal was to keep it around that threshold, but doesn't seem like that's possible unless I go with an old phone or take the "save and return" option where you're effectively renting the phone for 2 years. Everything I've heard about those plans is that they're full of fine print and can be very problematic. What are y'all doing for your phones and any recommendations? I have to finance since the work reimbursement is based on monthly bills.
