2024 beat the sales record for new vehicles in the province - 463 646 sales, the previous high was 2017 with 462 087 units moved.
Of note, after the usual suspects (F-150, #1, and RAV4, #2) is the 3rd place finisher: the Chevy Equinox EV! No wonder I see them all over the place!
Only 3 cars in the top-30 (4 if you consider the Crosstrek a car), and 9 are EV's.
Top-30 Quebec sellers for 2024 (French, but chart with numbers) (https://www.protegez-vous.ca/nouvelles/automobile/record-historique-de-ventes-d-autos-neuves-au-quebec-en-2024?utm_source=infolettre&utm_medium=courriel&utm_campaign=nouvelles)
Can't wait to see the Top 30 after the bribes go away if only to see their impact.

I expect Swastikars sales to plummet (no subsidies, increased prices, Musk), but others may stay the course as manufacturers adjust prices or put cash on the hood. Will be interesting to watch for sure.
There's a lot of interesting stuff in that article. Like Honda Civic sales being at 25% of what they were 10 years ago. No wonder I'm hardly ever seeing current models on the streets. I still have not seen an Si, except for the one in the press fleet.
Meh, Quebec is such a unique market compared to the rest of Canada I don't take too much from big EV sales from the top EV market.
As I'm sure sales are much different in California than Texas.
Crazy how the Equinox EV is #3... especially since they only went on sale in May or June. I'm surprised it's doing that well. I see quite a few of them but they're not ubiquitous like Tesla, which you see EVERYWHERE. There's solidly 8-10 Teslas in my condo parking garage of around 100 spots.

With the hot mess in the US, I expect we will see something similar to the 50% dip in sales Tesla is suffering in Europe. And in the same article, Tesla is in 3rd place for EV brands in Quebec, behind GM (#1) and Hyundai (#2).
