Title: 2023 Tiguan operating temp
Post by: Careener on Oct 24, 2025, 06:05 PM
Test drove a 2023 Tiguan this afternoon.
Temp was sitting at 130c the entire time.
That seems high,right?
Otherwise it drove fine. Was a bit boring but decent for what it is.

Yeah, seems pretty high. Most cars you want to see 195-220F, which is 90-105C. Don't rule out a poorly calibrated or just generally wonky gauge though.

Thanks.
It smelled like burning oil with a slight odor of coolant when I got back from the test drive so I didn't bother looking closer at it.

The press fleet unit we had here from that generation had a bunch of wonky issues - not something I'd consider out of a full warranty.
